Deadband (Pressure Measurement)
Definition: Deadband, in pressure measurement, refers to the range of pressure values where a change in applied pressure does not result in a corresponding change in the output signal of the pressure sensor. It essentially creates an insensitive region around a specific pressure value.
This phenomenon arises due to inherent mechanical limitations or physical properties of the pressure sensing element. For instance, a diaphragm may have a slight amount of slack that needs to be overcome before it deflects and produces a measurable output.
