Semiconductor Strain Gauges

Semiconductor Strain Gauges (SCSGs) are highly sensitive resistive elements fabricated from semiconductor materials, primarily silicon. When subjected to mechanical strain, their electrical resistance changes proportionally. This property, known as piezoresistivity, allows SCSGs to accurately measure minute deformations in objects, which can be correlated to pressure.
