Bonded Seal
A bonded seal is a type of static seal used to create a leak-proof barrier in applications with pressurized fluids or gases. It consists of a metal washer with an elastomeric (rubber-like) sealing ring bonded to its inner diameter. When placed between two flat surfaces that are tightened together with threaded fasteners (usually male and female parallel threads), the elastomeric ring compresses, forming a tight seal against both surfaces.
